2025-09-09 Another Mixed Day

Relaxing at Ferment Brewing after a great session.
Kim, Ted, Brad, Blaine and Ross.  Thanks Kent for the photo!

The morning started like all our other mornings.  Brad and Blaine went down to Dopio's for breakfast and coffee as usual.  Kent, Ross and I made our own breakfasts at the townhouse.  Blaine had some paperwork to take care of so said he would be late getting out.

Kent and I went to the Hatchery at 11:00.  Jim Mudry was just getting off the water and said he had a great session.  Kent rigged a 4.2 and I rigged my 5.5 Wing with 909 Foil.  We went out and had a great session.  After about an hour, we met Ross, Brad, and Blaine who had sailed up from the event site.  We had a lot of fun sailing around each other at the Red Buoy.   It was the 5 Albertans and Greg G at the Red buoy for about 30 minutes and no one else.  Greg was doing 360's around the buoy while we raced back and forth.

Kent and I came in for lunch at about 1:30.  I definitely needed a break!  I have been trying to switch feet before my jibe, and that hasn't been going well.  I only made about 2 out of 10.  Lots of energy expended climbing back on the board getting up and pumping back onto the foil!

Kim and his partner Sonia, who I know from Baja arrived.  Great to see them.  Kent and I went out for a second session.  Kent told me he was almost done, so he would come in whenever I had had enough... right.....  I had fun sailing with Kim, Sonia and Kent, but I was getting seriously tired.  I didn't last very long, and was off the water by 3:00.  Great session - very tired.

Kent stayed out for at least another hour!  What an animal, total distance 110km.  He said it might have been his best day ever!

We met at the Event site for a beer after sailing, then went to Ferment Brewing where we had a beer with my friend Kim.   Seems we have a common theme of having a beer or two to wrap up the day.

Everyone did there own thing for supper at the house and then off to bed.

Early to bed again - I think all the sailing is catching up to everyone.
